Duration: 1 hour (no negative marking)
Sections: English (10 to 15 questions of class 10th level) + Technical (equally covers all parts of the course)
Group Discussion
Duration: The GD takes place for a period of around 5 to 10 minutes (in 2011 the topic was “women empowerment in India”)
Interview
Informal + Technical (major questions are asked from the 3rd year projects regarding learning experience and technical details.)
Duration: normally 10 to 20 minutes (varies from candidate to candidate)
OFF CAMPUS SELECTION PROCEDURE
Time: In Sep and Oct the online notification is issued.
Application Procedure: A test fee of Rs. 500 has to be paid.
Exam: Tests are conducted at the centres authorised by the company all over India.
Result: declared by January and postings by April.
Written test + group discussion + interview
WRITTEN TEST comprises of a 2 hour paper with 120 questions. 60 questions (general awareness+ aptitude) and another 60 questions (technical based). No negative marking.
Interview (informal+ technical but more intensive and lengthy). 90 % questions are asked from the technical portion. Duration is around 50 minutes and very specific questions are asked from the technical applications.
Training Period: 1 year (4 months: classroom teaching + on site visit & 8 months: on site posting)
Bond: No bond restriction
Package
• For IIT graduates (4.2 lakh per annum)
• For IIT post graduates (4.6 lakh per annum)
• For B.Tech holders of other colleges (3.3 lakh per annum)
Work Environment
Trainees on an average spend 8 hours daily including classroom and site visits.
Advantages

• Trainees get enough time to prepare for exams of PSU’s (Public Sector Undertakings)
Disadvantages
• Students may get posted in a branch different from the one they have studied.
